NewsMonster is supported on most PDAs that support HTML and a moder web browser. The only major requirement is the ability to move about 20 megabytes of content to your PDA. Compact Flash or Secure Digital cards are perfect for this.

PDA Requirements

• A HTML 3.x/4.x browser ( Konqueror Embedded, Opera Embedded, Internet Explorer Pocket Edition, etc) capable of JavaScript and CSS2.
• Compact Flash or Secure Digital card with at least 20-30M free space.

Sharp Zaurus SL-5500

Status:

SUPPORTED

The SL-5500 is fully supported and is owned by NewsMonster's primary developer.

Instructions:

1. Mount your Compact Flash (or SD) card on a Linux or Windows machine.
2. Copy files in NEWSMONSTER_HOME/output and NEWSMONSTER_HOME/content onto your CF card.
3. Mount the CF card on your PDA and with Konqueror or Opera load NEWSMONSTER_HOME/output/index.html.

Other PDAs

If your PDA is not documented here chances are that if it is a modern PDA and has support for Compact Flash or Secure Digital cards, HTML, and javascript that it will support NewsMonster just fine.

In this case you can try following instructions from other PDAs and see if this works. If you have success with an un-documented PDA please let us know so that we can include the instructions here for other users.
